The 1990s mark the construction of the largest swine slaughterhouse in Latin America, in Chapecó (SC) and the opening of the first slaughterhouse in another Brazilian state, Mato Grosso do Sul. At the moment, Aurora Coop is the second largest cooperative in Brazil, registering a growing increase in exports, totaling more than 8 thousand tons in 1998.
In the 80’s, the Cooperative enters the RJ-SP axis. At the same time, it begins activities in the first poultry industry, in Maravilha (SC). Aurora Coop grows with the purchase of Peperi brand. A period of modernization of administrative processes and implementation of environmental preservation programs.
1969 marks the beginning of the history of one of the largest food cooperatives in Brazil: Cooperativa Central Aurora Alimentos. An audacious and visionary project, which transforms the reality of thousands of families, no longer just producers of raw materials to become rural producers associated with a food production cooperative. Four years after its foundation, Aurora Coop opens, in Chapecó (SC), its first factories – of animal feed and meat, acquired from Frigorífico Marafon along with the Aurora product brand.
In the 2000s, Aurora Coop arrived in the Brazilian Northeast and opened an export unit in Itajaí (SC), aiming at growth in the foreign market. In 2004, it enters the dairy market, in 2007 it acquires the Nobre brand and, in 2009, it opens a modern Animal Feed factory in Cunha Porã (SC). At its core, Aurora Coop carries the strength of people and cooperation. Thus, is its created Foundation Aury Luiz Bodanese, to promote sustainability and cooperative actions in the communities.
In this decade, the Cooperative opens a modern factory in the dairy segment, in the West region of Santa Catarina. In 2019, the sum of dedication, work and our people results in commemorating the first fiftieth anniversary of Aurora Coop with the theme “The Sum of All of Us”. To celebrate the date, the cooperative holds several openings, including a distribution center in Arujá (SP) and Praça da Cooperação, in Chapecó (SC), considered a landmark of cooperativism.
To highlight its commitment to cooperative principles and values, in 2021 the cooperative created an institutional brand and became Aurora Coop. A new brand to further enhance the essence and purpose of “Caring for each to awaken prosperity for all“. This year, Aurora Coop also acquired the Chicken production structure of the Agrodanieli Group, which comprises four production units: two chicken slaughterhouses and a feed plant in Tapejara (RS), as well as a hatchery in Ibiaçá (RS)
