The most important facts of each decade:

Aury Luiz Bodanese

He was one of the greatest presidents in the Cooperative’s history. Born in Barão de Cotegipe (RS), his life story is very close to that of others lived by immigrants who, at the time, moved to the western region of Santa Catarina in search of a new perspective on life. With a strong personality and initiative, he started working early as a fruit seller and newspaper delivery man, was a truck driver at the age of 15 and, at 20, did military service in Uruguaiana (RS). Throughout his professional career he participated actively in the community as a political representative and entrepreneur. Aury was the first president of Aurora Coop and is recognized as a great cooperative leader. During the 22 years as head of the Cooperative, he propagated the cooperative’s philosophy, bringing people together and forming a solid basis for the future projection of Aurora Coop.

Mario Lanznaster

He was one of the greatest presidents in the Cooperative’s history. He began his management in 2007 and, during the 13 years he presided over Aurora Coop, he guided it to great achievements. Born in Presidente Getúlio (SC), Lanznaster worked on the industrial board for 15 years with Aury Luiz Bodanese. Pig farmer for over 40 years and also cereal producer, he graduated in Agronomy at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, and in Occupational Safety Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. He dedicated 46 years to cooperativism, commanded two of the largest cooperatives – Cooperalfa and Aurora Coop – received state and national awards, was honored and decorated numerous times and left a legacy highlighted by everyone who knew him directly or indirectly: he showed with all his simplicity that cooperation is capable of transforming the world.
